RE: PORT TRUCKING C
~ e a i ~ o r tof Seattle Commissioners:
As a resident of the Greater Duwamish area, I an1 concerned about the 1,500 11,800
diesel trucks inoving containers to and from the loading docks through our
neighborhoods.
SMOG AND POLLUTION: Diesel particulates from the trucks contribute to human
health concerns such as asthma and cancer risks. In addition, fine particulates attract and
hold toxic pollutants and ultimately run off into our waterways and impact salmon and
other marine life. THE PORT SHOULD SOLVE THIS PROBLEM BECAUSE:

NOISE AND TRAFFIC: Due to the haphazard loading schedules and trucking routes,
these port trucks contribute to smog, idling noise, and unsafe traffic and health conditions
in local neighborhoods such as Delridge, Georgetown and
( .
South Park. THE PORT
SHOULD SOLVE THIS PROBLEM BECAUSE:

Dear Port of Seattle Commissioners:
As a resident of the Greater Duwamish area, I am concerned about the 1,500 - 1,800
diesel trucks moving containers to and from the loading docks through our
neighborhoods.

NOISE AND TRAFFIC: Due to the haphazard loading schedules and trucking routes,
these port truclts contribute to smog, idling noise, and unsafe traffic and health conditions
in local neighborhoods such as Delridge, Georgetown and South Park. THE PORT
SHOULD SOLVE THIS PROBLEM BECAUSE: I
