Sea-Tac Taxi COrporation

July 11,2016

Mark Gjurasic and I represent the SeaTac Taxi Corporation (STC) which is made up ofthe 2] 8
independent taxicab owners/operators who operate their own vehicles at SeaTac airport under the
current ground transportation contract.

The Port Must Ensure that Taxis Remain uali Famil Wa 0 Jobs for O erators
The Port has made clear that it is a priority to ensure that taxi owners/operators at SeaTac Airport
are able to provide for their families and make a reasonable living. Every dollar that the Port of
Seattle and the winning RFP bidder collect from this ground transportation contract must come
from drivers.

FACTS:
1. All monies under this contract will come from Drivers
2. Taxi trips down more than 15% from expected numbers for May 2016*
3. Uber's took 41.0% of all trips from the airport in May 2016 (51,438
Uber trips, 73,952 Taxi trips)

GIVEN THESE FACTS, HOW CAN DRIVERS MAKE A LIVING WAGE WHEN THE RFP
PROMISEDI
1. Increased trip fees and "relatively high" initial trip fees to the Port
2. Adding 20% more cars at the airport
3. Increased DiSpatch Fees (we believe by around 5% over current)

Taxi cab drivers will NOT be able to make a livable family wage at SeaTac
Airport under the increased costs in the RFP.

' Prior
to Uber beginning work at the Airport, Taxi ridership was increasing in 20 l 6 at an average trend of7.0%

over the same months in the previous year. Applying a 7.0% increase to May 2OI5 numbers would predict that May
20I6 taxi trips would be 87,053 (81,358 trips in May 2015 x 7% increase ' 87,053 expected taxi trips). What we
actually saw was 73,952 taxi trips which is a reduction of l5% from May 20] 5 to May 20I6.

Limitations of Translatable Documents

PDF files are created with text and images are placed at an exact position on a page of a fixed size.
Web pages are fluid in nature, and the exact positioning of PDF text creates presentation problems.
PDFs that are full page graphics, or scanned pages are generally unable to be made accessible, In these cases, viewing whatever plain text could be extracted is the only alternative.
