Port =' of Seattle" PROCLAMATION OF THE PORT OF SEATTLE COMMISSION WHEREAS, Sattle has been home to Clipper for 30 years, with its ships sailing yearround from the Port of Seattle to Victoria, British Columbia and to the San Juan Islands since the 1980s; and WHEREAS, Clipper sailed to Victoria from the Port of Seattle's Pier 48 with the Princess Marguerite IV in the late 1990s and then sailed from the Port's Pier 69 to Victoria with the Clipper I, Clipper II, and Clipper IV vessels; and has also sailed to the San Juan Islands with the San Juan Clipper 'om Pier 69 for 30 years; and WHEREAS, Clipper is committed to service and excellence and provided rst-class ferry service and a memorable travel experience to more than 8 million guests during the last 30 years; and WHEREAS, Clipper contributes to the region's tourism economy with 575 roundtrip voyages between Seattle and Victoria annually, and 110 sailings between Seattle and the San Juan Islands each year; and WHEREAS, Clipper is a signicant contributor to Seattle's economy and a valued partner of the Port of Seattle. The company has contributed more than $600 million to the regional economy and across the state of Washington over the course of 30 years of service; and WHEREAS, Clipper is committed to sourcing local, high quality products on board its vessels and at its cafe; and , ' 'WHEREAS, Clipper supports the local community and employs 200 staff at its Seattle Pier 69 headquarters and in Victoria; and WHEREAS, Clipper actively gives back to the community and contributes thousands of dollars in donations and inkind vessel and activity tickets and events to a broad range of charitable organizations.
