PORT OF SEATTLE MEMORANDUM COMMISSION AGENDA Item No. 4a Date of Meeting July 10, 2012 DATE: July 2, 2012 TO: Tay Yoshitani, Chief Executive Officer FROM: Mary Gin Kennedy, Director of Commission Services SUBJECT: Special Order of Business Commission Activities Report At the first Commission meeting of every month, the Commission will note its major activities of the previous month. Activities during the month of June 2012 included: Participated in 6 Century Agenda outreach events. Held a Commission retreat to discuss the Century Agenda. Held a joint meeting with the King County Council Committee of the Whole, presented the Century Agenda and adopted a motion to work with King County to achieve mutual goals. Testified before the King County Council's Transportation, Economy and Environment Committee on arena's impact on Port operations and jobs. Spoke at the SR-99 tunnel launch pit ground-breaking event. Were interviewed by various news organizations on the arena. Participated in the "Mayor's Maritime Roundtable" hosted by the Seattle Marine Business Coalition and the Port. Served as a panelist on "PSBJ Live." Met with visiting delegations from Egypt and South Korea. Attended the Puget Sound Regional Council General Assembly. Attended the Downtown Seattle Association's 2012 annual meeting. Attended the Trade Development Alliance Stakeholder Committee Meeting and annual dinner. Attended the Blacks in Government Juneteenth event. Participated in the Port-wide PRIDE parade.
