Each year members of the Port of Seattle Fire Department nominate fellow department members and vote to honor one of their own as Firefighter of the Year. We are pleased to announce Todd Starkey as our 2011 Firefighter of the Year. We would like to take this opportunity to say thank you to all involved in the Firefighter of the year selection process. Nominees for Firefighter of the year were Todd Starkey, Adam Griffin, Greg Baruso, Dale Hornung, Chris Nuttall, Laura Smith, and Brian Waldron. All candidates continue to contribute a great deal to our department and we are very appreciative of all their contributions. Todd's co-workers recognized his commitment, loyalty and hard work for his nomination. Captain Starkey continually dedicates himself to numerous projects and committees, such as: Recruitment and Promotional Committee, his involvement in the Fun Run, his commitment to the Joint Apprenticeship Training Committee program and his membership in the Union Executive Board. Todd is extremely motivated and his attitude remains positive and professional. His work inside and outside of the station exemplifies the quality of officer we at the Port strive to produce. Todd is very deserving of this honor.
