4b. Nomination Letter
Item No. 4b_attach_1 Meeting Date: July 11, 2017 July 11, 2017 Magnolia Community Club P.O. Box 99564 Seattle, Washington 98199 Queen Anne Community Council 1818 First Avenue West Seattle, Washington 98119 Dear Ms. Montgomery and Ms. Monrad: According to the Short Fill Redevelopment Agreement as amended 1998, which established the Neighbors' Advisory Committee, the Port of Seattle is required to provide a Chairperson who is neither a resident of Magnolia or Queen Anne nor an employee of the Port of Seattle. This is managed through a service contract with 501 Commons who seeks out highly qualified individuals to fill this role. In April of this year, John Kriese, the current Chair, stepped down from the position after five years of service. We would like to offer Mr. Bill Winkelman as a candidate to serve next in the role. NAC members have had an opportunity to meet him and consider his qualifications for the position. The Committee was in agreement and satisfied that he could perform the Chair's duties. Please accept this letter as the Port of Seattle Commission's action to nominate Mr. Bill Winkelman as Chair for the Neighbors Advisory Committee. A copy of Mr. Winkelman's resume is attached. Thank you for your consideration. Sincerely, Tom Albro President Port of Seattle Commission
