Susan Edelhelt Jennifer Flsch Lelsa Goldberg We are grateful for the Commission's previous attention to the need for Jocelyn lsaacs Debra Mailman a prayer and meditation space at SeaTac. And, we commend your Ken Rudee efforts, efciency, and hard work last fall to hear concerns of the faith Corey Salka Diane Sigel-Steinman community on this issue, and to follow up by reopening the prior Brad Smlth meditation and prayer space. Rabblnlc Organizatlon Representatives As you know, the current room, though aesthetically pleasing to be Rabbi Aaron Meyer sure, is less than ideal, as it is only usable before security, and for Rabbi Moshe Kletenik passengers with an hour or two at the airport, it would be nearly impossible to access between ights. Ex Ofclo Members Shelley Bensussen Robin Boehler A prayer and meditation room in the C1 expansion, after security, would Ray Galante Elleen Gllman be much more accessible. This new room would bring SeaTac Airport Ron Leibsohn in line with other major international airports in thoughtfully carving out a Frankie Loeb Gerald Ostroff quiet space available for prayer and meditation. We understand the Commission's tough task to balance many competing priorities in limited and precious airport space. And still, we recommend the creation of an interfaith prayer and meditation room in the new C Concourse expansion. This room would be an important and usable space for people of all faiths, will serve as a reminder of our 2033 6th Ave. Suite 810 | Seattle, WA 98121-2567 | Maln 206.443.5400 | Fax 206.770.6363 | www.jewishinseattle.org nation's support for religious freedom and celebration of diversity, and help SeaTac create an open and inclusive environment for people of all backgrounds.
