Item Number: 6g_reso Meeting Date: July 9, 2019 1 RESOLUTION NO. 3759 2 3 A RESOLUTION of the Port of Seattle Commission creating a Seattle-Tacoma 4 International Airport ground transportation policy 5 directive, including principles, goals, monitoring, and 6 reporting, and affirming airport commute-trip-reduction 7 goals for the port. 8 9 WHEREAS, the Port of Seattle is committed to providing quality customer service, 10 reducing congestion, and minimizing the environmental impacts of vehicles at Seattle-Tacoma 11 International Airport; and 12 13 WHEREAS, the Port of Seattle's commitment includes implementing strategies and 14 tactics to discourage use of private vehicles and promote higher-occupancy transportation 15 modes; and 16 17 WHEREAS, the port is committed to achieving or exceeding the goals created under 18 the Washington State Commute Trip Reduction (CTR) program for Port of Seattle employees 19 at the Airport; and 20 21 WHEREAS, under the Washington state commute-trip-reduction program, the City of 22 SeaTac established the 65 percent target drive-alone rate that applies to SeaTac area 23 employers with over 100 employees, including the Port of Seattle; and 24 25 WHEREAS, the Port of Seattle developed guiding principles and goals drawn from the 26 Port's Ground Transportation Access Plan, and affirmed the direction in public at the 27 Commission's July 10, 2018, "Travel to and From the Airport Study Session," and were briefed 28 in public again at the September 25, 2018, commission public meeting; 29 30 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Port of Seattle Commission as follows: 31 32 SECTION 1.
