Multi-Year Program Authorization Increase
Request for the South King County Fund

Request:
Increase the total amount the Executive Director is authorized
to execute from $2 Million to $4 Million to support a robust
number of multi-year funding requests from the 2021 SKCF
procurement.
This increased authorization does not change the total budget
for the program ($10 million over 5 years); rather, it simply
allows staff to commit multi-year resources to deserving
applicants.

Justification
Multi-year funding was offered for the first time under the
SKCF in 2021.
For Environmental Grants, over half of applicants requested
multi-year funding, for Economic Recovery Grants 85%
requested multi-year funding
Providing multi-year funding both reduces administrative
burdens for the Port and applicants and provides increased
project sustainability providing organizations with the
opportunity to develop deep relationships and long-term
stewardship.
