Item No. 3b3_Supp Date of Meeting April 25, 2017 Green Gateway Partner Awards April 25, 2017 Green Gateway Partner Awards 2016 Seventh year awarding cruise line partners for their superior environmental programs, innovation, and continuous improvement Five cruise lines achieved Green Gateway Partner Awards in 2016 One cruise line receiving a Green Gateway Program Innovator Award Must demonstrate efforts to exceed regulatory requirements in at least 4 of 5 categories: Air Emissions/Energy Conservation Water Management Waste Reduction Environmental Awareness Third Party Certification Carnival Cruise Line Innovator Award & Partner Award Partner status for: Recycling incentive program for all vessels in the fleet Participation in Coastal Cleanup Day & World Oceans Day Innovator Award for 2016 for its first ever shoreside Environmental/Sustainability Fair for staff and customers Princess Cruises Partner Award Achieved Partner status for installation of unique shredder on Crown Princess that reduces volume of waste from vessel Norwegian Cruise Line Partner Award Achieved Partner status for innovative key card activation system for lights and A/C in guests' rooms & resulting energy savings new technology to cruise ships Holland America Line Partner Award Achieved Partner status for use of electronic data logging for all environmental data on vessels. This will improve data quality, efficiency and transparency Celebrity Cruises Partner Award Achieved Partner status for installation of solar panels on vessels integrated into ship's energy grid, and Environmental Ship Index (ESI) certification
