COMMISSION SPECIAL MEETING DECEMBER 17-18, 2013 
The Port of Seattle Commission met in a special meeting Tuesday, December 17, 2013, at
Islandwood  4450 Blakely Avenue Northeast, Bainbridge Island, Washington  for the purpose of
holding a Commission retreat.  Commissioners Albro, Bowman, Bryant, Creighton, and Gregoire 
were present. 
CALL TO ORDER 
The special meeting was called to order at 10:00 a.m. by Tom Albro, Commission President. 
The Commission engaged in a discussion with Port staff that included consideration of the
following topics: 
Priorities for 2014. 
Executive search. 
Workforce development. 
Seaport and maritime business. 
RECESSED AND RECONVENED 
The special meeting of the Port of Seattle Commission was recessed at 5:30 p.m., December 17,
2013. The meeting reconvened at 8:00 a.m., December 18, 2013, chaired by Commissioner Albro. 
The Commission continued its discussion with Port staff, including consideration of the following
topics: 
2014 meeting schedule. 
Off-site meeting options. 
Participation on outside boards and commissions. 
Expectations of the Commission Chief of Staff. 
Expectations of the CEO and Deputy CEO in 2014. 
ADJOURNMENT 
There being no further business, the special meeting was adjourned at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday,
December 18, 2013.
