Nominations are accepted for any project, process, or action that promotes environmental leadership and stewardship in one of three categories: Environmental Performance Environmental Education and Outreach Environmental Innovation Between January and March 2012, the Airport accepted award nominations for projects, processes or actions completed during 2011. Nominations were received only for the first category Environmental Performance. A panel of Aviation Division staff and managers reviewed those nominations, in accordance with criteria established for each category, and made recommendations to Airport Senior Management. Senior management then determined that three nominations in the Environmental Performance category would receive 2011 Environmental Excellence Awards. Awards in the other two categories would not be presented this year, but all three categories will again be considered next year. NEXT STEPS: Winners of 2011 awards will be notified on April 6, 2012. Commemorative plaques will be presented to award winners during the April 24, 2012, Commission meeting.
