ACTION REQUESTED 
Request Commission adoption of a motion to appoint Ted J. Fick to serve as Port of
Seattle Chief Executive Officer, effective September 29, 2014. 
BACKGROUND 
With the announcement of Mr. Yoshitani's retirement effective September 30, 2014, the
Commission embarked on a nationwide search for a new chief executive. Commissioners
conducted a long, thorough process and selected Ted Fick from a group of highly
qualified applicants. For additional details, please see the attached motion.
