Security Glazing Standards 
Treatment Levels Considered: 
Level 1 (No hazard): Glazing will not crack or break. 
Level 2 (No hazard): Glazing will crack but no
fragment penetration. 
Level 3A/3B (Very Low/Low hazard): Glazing will
crack and fragments to penetrate 3.3 to 10 ft. 
Level 4 (Medium hazard): Glazing will crack and
fragments will embed in back wall 10 ft back and 2
ft up. 
Level 5 (High hazard): Glazing will crack and
fragments will embed in back wall 10 ft back and
more than 2ft up. 
Level 2 Minimal for Airport Main Terminal Environment

Limitations of Translatable Documents

PDF files are created with text and images are placed at an exact position on a page of a fixed size.
Web pages are fluid in nature, and the exact positioning of PDF text creates presentation problems.
PDFs that are full page graphics, or scanned pages are generally unable to be made accessible, In these cases, viewing whatever plain text could be extracted is the only alternative.
