Minutes Exhibit A Port Commission Regular Meeting of November 27, 2018 November 27, 2018 Port of Seattle Port Commission Dear Port Commissioners, 4800 South 188th Street SeaTac, WA 98188-8605 City Hal: 206.973.4800 The City of SeaTac supports Port of Seattle Commission Motion 2018-14, which would create hodsi the South King County Community Fund to addressairport noise and other projects that TT support environmental health and enhance sustainability for the communities surrounding the airport. The City is committed to working with the Port to address the impacts of an international airport within its borders. As you are aware, Sea-Tac Airport is located entirely within the City of SeaTac boundaries, covering over 40 percent of the City's land area. Since the City's incorporation in 1990, the two entities have worked together to resolve any significantissues. This new fund would strengthen the partnership between to two entities in order to achieve mutually beneficial outcomes. The City of SeaTac is committed to working with Port Executive Director and staff to ensure the South King County Community Fund would benefit the communities most impacted by the airport operations. SeaTac supports the fund's potential use to supplementresidential sound insulation and to further address noise, air quality and water quality issues. In order for a successful implementation ofthe fund,the City would request to work closely with Port staffto ensure the fund focused on local issues, does not require local matches and directs the fundsinto the communities based on their proportionate impact by the airport. In addition,the City would recommend the existing StART committee be involved in the Mayor Erin Sitterley decision making process for allocation ofthe funds. Deputy Mayor SeaTac supports the Port Commission establishing the 10 million dollar South King County Clyde Hill Community Fund that would directly address current noise and environmental issues and lead to positive outcomes for the communities surrounding the airport.
