Item Number: 8b_reso Meeting Date: May 28, 2019 1 RESOLUTION NO. 3759 2 3 A RESOLUTION of the Port of Seattle creating a Seattle-Tacoma International 4 Airport ground transportation policy directive, including 5 principles, goals, monitoring, and reporting, and affirming 6 airport commute-trip-reduction goals for the port. 7 8 WHEREAS, the Port of Seattle is committed to providing quality customer service, 9 reducing congestion, and minimizing the environmental impacts of vehicles at Seattle-Tacoma 10 International Airport; and 11 12 WHEREAS, the Port of Seattle's commitment includes implementing strategies and 13 tactics to discourage use of private vehicles and promote higher-occupancy transportation 14 modes; and 15 16 WHEREAS, the port is committed to achieving or exceeding the goals created under 17 the Washington State Commute Trip Reduction (CTR) program for Port of Seattle employees 18 at the Airport; and 19 20 WHEREAS, under the Washington state commute-trip-reduction program, the City of 21 SeaTac established the 65 percent target drive-alone rate that applies to SeaTac area 22 employers with over 100 employees, including the Port of Seattle; and 23 24 WHEREAS, the Port of Seattle developed guiding principles and goals drawn from the 25 Port's Ground Transportation Access Plan, and affirmed the direction in public at the 26 Commission's July 10, 2018, "Travel to and From the Airport Study Session," and were briefed 27 in public again at the September 25, 2018, commission public meeting; 28 29 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Port of Seattle Commission as follows: 30 31 SECTION 1.
