Exhibit A - Public Comment
From: laura gibbons To: Commission-Public-Records Subject: [EXTERNAL] For written testimony at Tuesday"s Port Commission meeting Date: Saturday, April 10, 2021 8:28:24 AM WARNING: External email. Links or attachments may be unsafe. If you don't have time to read the whole thing at the meeing (though it is quite brief), here is a summary: Where is your plan to meet your target of a 50% reduction in Scope 3 greenhouse gas emissions by 2030? Commissioners, I am glad to see your program reports for Item 11, supporting Diversity in Contracting (11a) and Airport Community Ecology(11b). I urge you to think more broadly. Given that the majority of People of Color in King County live near the airport1, supporting diverse communities requires taking action to reduce exposure to aviation emissions and noise by reducing air traffic out of SEATAC. Thinking more broadly about ecology would mean reducing the impact of aviation on global warming. Where is your plan to meet your target of a 50% reduction in Scope 3 greenhouse gas emissions by 2030? Sincerely, Laura Gibbons Seattle 1.
