Distributed nearly 50,000 lbs. (800
meals/week) of donated Airport food to local
community 
Reduced Airport solid waste costs by avoiding
$3,400 in landfill disposal fees 
Since 2006, the food bank helped Airport
tenants donate over 229,000 lbs. or 183,000
meals to families within neighboring airport
communities. 
Des Moines Area Food Bank provides both environmental and social benefits for our communities
