APPROVED MINUTES 
COMMISSION COMMUNITY MEETING NOVEMBER 1, 2016 
The Port of Seattle Commission held a special community meeting Tuesday, November 1, 2016, 
at Bow Lake Elementary School, 18237 42nd Avenue South, SeaTac, Washington. Commissioners 
Albro, Creighton, and Felleman were present. Commissioner Gregoire was present until 9:28 p.m.
Commissioner Bowman did not attend. 
CALL TO ORDER 
The meeting convened at 7:07 p.m., following an open house which began at 6:00 p.m. During the
open house, the public had the opportunity to review information and converse with Port staff and
Commissioners. 
Airport Flight Corridor Safety Program 
Presentation document(s) included Environmental Management presentation slides and Program
Management presentation slides. 
Following opening remarks by Commissioners, Port staff presented a summary of the Flight
Corridor Safety Program. The program proposes to ensure safe aircraft operations by removing
obstructions, primarily trees, from around Seattle-Tacoma International Airport that either are or
soon will grow tall enough to encroach on the Airport's airspace and pose arisk to aircraft safety
and the safety of the surrounding community in the case of an aircraft emergency. 
Information provided included methodology, pros and cons of alternative solutions, a description of
replanting plans, and a summary of community outreach.

Port staff summarized and briefly addressed major themes from the public comment period,
including alternate methods of mitigating flight corridor obstructions, replanting, an Environmental
Impact Statement, and displaced wildlife.

There was no further business, and the community meeting adjourned at 9:53 p.m.
