Exhibit A
Minutes Exhibit A Port Commission Regular Meeting of May 12, 2015 May 12th, 2015 Richard Hodgin's Testimony at Public Hearing Good afternoon Commissioners. My name is Richard Hodgin and I am a private citizen not representing any organization. I am a member of Bet Alef Meditative Synagogue here in Seattle. In my faith-based community we have a healing prayer called the Mi Shebeirach. I want to share two lines from that healing prayer that gives me hope for the future: Help us find the courage To make our lives a blessing It is my hope and prayer that this commission will find the courage to adopt a sustainable path leading to the right side of history. Drilling for oil in the precious Artic is not the right side of history. The Hebrew Scriptures admonish us to: " choose life, so that you and your children will live;" Deuteronomy 30:19 Choosing to drill for oil in the Artic is by no means choosing life. Commissioners thank you for providing the time to discuss this critical issue. Richard Hodgin 6524 26th Ave NE Seattle, WA 98115 206-729-8900
