Activities during the month of January 2013 included: Commissioner Tarleton resigned from the Commission effective January 31, 2013. Held an Informational Forum for individuals interested in applying for the vacant position on the Commission and provided an overview of the Port's operations, the role and responsibilities of a Port Commissioner and the Century Agenda which was followed by a Question-and-Answer period. Was interviewed by KUOW's Weekday host Steve Scher. Was interviewed by Crosscut.com publisher/CEO Greg Shaw. Spoke to the Transportation Club of Seattle. Participated in a panel discussion on port competitiveness at the Rainier Club. Participated in calls on state legislators in Olympia with members of the Freight Mobility Strategic Investment Board (FMSIB) and attended a FMSIB meeting. Participated in a conference call with Washington Superintendent of Public Instruction Randy Dorn. Met with Chancellor of Seattle Community Colleges Dr. Jill Wakefield. Met with the Mayor and Des Moines City Councilmembers and staff. Attended the Southwest King County Economic Development Initiative/Highline Forum meeting with state legislators. Attended Governor-elect Inslee's Economic Advisory Group meeting. Attended enterpriseSeattle's 41st annual Economic Forecast conference. Attended the Federal Way Chamber of Commerce's Economic Forecast breakfast. Attended a Trade Development Alliance board meeting. Attended a Seattle's Convention and Visitor Bureau board meeting. Attended an Art Oversight Committee meeting. Attended Seattle Community College's 39th Annual Martin Luther King Celebration. Attended Governor Inslee's Inaugural Ball.
