Item No. 7a_supp Meeting Date: June 28, 2016 Seattle-Tacoma International Airport International Arrivals Facility (IAF) Briefing: Two Additional International Aircraft Gates to Meet Continuing Rapid Growth Perspective of Overall IAF Project 2 IAF Overview The IAF was conceived as a two-phased project: - Phase I Underway ($608M to be completed in the Fall of 2019) - Phase II Budget & schedule not yet established Passenger Processing Capability: - Phase I 1,900 passengers/hour - Phase II 2,600 passengers/hour Inbound Baggage Claim Devices Required: - Phase I 5 - Phase II 7 International Widebody Gates Available: - Phase I 18 - Phase II 20 Optimizes Airline Operations and Improves Passenger Experience 3 IAF Overview The IAF is on-track to deliver a facility that: - Facilitates the achievement of the Commission's Century Agenda - Improves the level of service and enhances the passenger experience - Creates a signature identity that is both memorable and welcoming to our international arriving passengers - Increases SEA's competitive standing with peer airports by shortening processing time Optimizes Airline Operations and Improves Passenger Experience 4 Century Agenda Adopted in 2012 In 2011 SEA had 14 medium- and long-haul international services The Century Agenda seeks to double that number to 28 by 2036 By year end 2016 SEA will have 22 medium- and long-haul international services What gating requirement does that impressive international growth drive? This would not impact the scheduled Fall 2019 opening of the current IAF project. Future Action Requested 8
