PORT OF SEATTLE
MEMORANDUM
COMMISSION AGENDA Item No. 6e
Date of Meeting June 22, 2010

DATE: June 15, 2010
TO: Tay Yoshitani, Chief Executive Officer
FROM: Mary Gin Kennedy, Director of Commission Services
SUBJECT: Revised Request for Authorization for International Travel in 2010

ACTION REQUESTED: Request Commission authorization to update the 2010 international
travel plan.
BACKGROUND:
Pursuant to Section 2 of Resolution No. 3195, at the beginning of each calendar year, the Port
Commission is required to consider and approve a motion authorizing potential Commission
international travel which can be anticipated for the year. The Commission authorized the 2010
travel plan on January 12, 2010, but authorization to update the travel plan to include an
additional trip and an additional destination is now being sought.
It is recommended that Commission authorization be granted for the additional potential
international travel to Canada outlined below and that the previously-approved travel to China be
revised to reflect travel to China and Vietnam.
