PORT OF SEATTLE MEMORANDUM COMMISSION AGENDA Item No. 4a Date of Meeting February 5, 2013 DATE: January 29, 2013 TO: Tay Yoshitani, Chief Executive Officer FROM: Mary Gin Kennedy, Director of Commission Services SUBJECT: Special Order of Business Presentations by Semi-Finalists for Port Commissioner Appointment The Port of Seattle Commission plans to select and announce the semi-finalists for the vacant Port Commissioner position on February 4, 2013. As part of the process announced at the December 11, 2012, Commission meeting, semi-finalists will address the Commission for three minutes at the February 5 Commission meeting, or they may submit a written statement to the Commission by the beginning of the meeting instead. The Commission will then select the group of finalists, who will be announced the week of February 11. Finalists will be required to participate at two moderated town hall meetings in King County on February 26 and February 27, 2013. The February 26 meeting will be held at the Seattle Public Library at 1000 Fourth Avenue in the Microsoft Auditorium from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., and the February 27 meeting will be held in Renton City Council Chambers, 1055 South Grady Way in Renton, WA. from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. The Commission seeks to complete the appointment process by mid-March.
