Port of Seattle Commission

Commission President Bill Bryant and Port of Seattle Commissioners,

Camp Patriot wishes to bring to the attention of the Port of Seattle Commission the extraordinary
efforts and actions of the Port of Seattle Police Department at the SEATAC Airport and managed
by Chief Colleen Wilson.

Camp Patriot is a nonprot headquartered in Libby, Montana. For the past three years we have
climbed Mt Rainier with disabled veterans. This climb is one of many outdoor adventures we
embark on annually for disabled veterans. Invited disabled veterans rally at the SEATAC Airport
from various parts of the United States in July as the rst step to ascend 14,410 feet of Mt Rainier.
These injured veterans have suffered major injuries. Thus far; three blind, two with leg prosthetics,
two with massive internal and head injuries and one that was paralyzed from the neck down six
months prior to the climb were the vets that have taken the challenge
so far, beginning in 2007.

The first introduction these warriors get to Washington State is the SEATAC Airport. Your
agency
and its ofcers have gone out of their way to assist Camp Patriot in welcoming these warriors to
an
amazing adventure of climbing Rainier. With your officer's assistance and cooperation from TSA,
the founder of Camp Patriot, Micah Clark, is able to meet each inbound warrior at the terminal
gate,
and escort them to the rally point.

As special note we would like to express our appreciation to your Dispatch Center for their
assistance in directing us to the appropriate location. Sgt. Mike Kim and Sgt. Jack Myer have
gone
out of their way to ensure that an ofcer is assigned to our needs during the time we are awaiting
three to four different ights. The rst two years we were aided by Ofcer IR Camarao and this

year by Ofcer Mike Hebrank, both extraordinary men in demeanor and attention to duty and both
with hearts for injured veterans. Even though this year Ofcer Camarao
was unable to work with us

at the airport, he took it upon himself on his own time to drive to Ashford on the last day of our
climb to encourage and thank the injured veterans for their sacrice. Your ofcer's, like JR, Mike
and Sgt's Myers and Kim have become part of the fabric that bonds warriors from law enforcement
and military together. The injured veterans are truly impressed and appreciate being escorted by
uniformed ofcers from the moment they arrive until they depart.

Please accept our thanks and appreciation to the Commission and to Chief Colleen Wilson for the
type of ofcers you and she have employed and empowered at the SEATAC Airport. We could not
complete this particular mission of taking disabled military veterans up Mt Rainier without your
help.
I will attach a couple of photos of some of the veterans with brief descriptions of each photo.

Thank you all, and may God richly bless your efforts as you serve the public at the SEATAC
Airport.

On behalf of the Camp Patriot Board of Directors: Micah Clark, Pat Kenny, Mike Flood, Jeff
Lembcke

Sincerely,

Bill Clark, Camp Patriot Board of Directors
Police Chief (Retired)
Commissioner Port of Pasco
Past President, WPPA
