I am sending this written comment on behalf of Cheryl Carter for the November 17, 2020 Port of
Seattle Commission meeting. She is copied on this message. Thank you.

Dear Port of Seattle Commissioners,
I have been working for Alaska Airlines for 17 years. I have been a student at Port Jobs' Airport
University (AU) since 2019. I have thoroughly enjoyed the staff, the office workers and the
volunteers. When I first started at AU, I didn't even know what Canvas was or what Snap was! The
Airport jobs staff was so helpful they answered my questions, gave me the extra help I needed to
become successful. They were also available before, after and during class for any extra computer
help or class help. I had been a MAC user since 2010, so for me there was a learning curve getting
used to the PC system and the online college environment. It was also wonderful being among my
peer and follow professionals that were also working and getting their education. This is a very
valuable program, it enabled me to get Leadership/Supervisor skills training that I could apply to my
current job and future endeavors. Each class I have taken has always been useful to me personally
and professionally. Thank you so much for having this available to Port workers!!

Thank you,
Cher Carter
Seattle FA
