Metruck, Executive Director FROM: Dave Soike, Chief Operating Officer SUBJECT: Request for Authorization to Extend International Arrivals Facility Staff Coverage for 13 months (CIPs #C800583, C800781, C800836) Amount of this request: $18.2 Million Total estimated project cost: $986,645,000 ACTION REQUESTED Request Authorization for the Executive Director to extend Port staff coverage for the International Arrivals Facility (IAF) an additional 13 months at a cost $18.2 million. This increases the program authorization by 1.9% from $968,445,000 to $986,645,000. EXECUTIVE SUMMARY The IAF work has not completed construction in a timely fashion. The project was anticipated to be complete in early June 2020 and now is expected to be completed in June - July 2021. The Port project team did not anticipate working beyond the 2020 completion date. In order to provide construction inspectors, resident engineers, construction managers, project managers, engineering specialty consultants, security personnel, operational personnel, etc. to manage work around aircraft gates, monitor and review contractor submittals, perform quality checks, and manage the program, it is necessary to extend the budget for 13 months resulting in this authorization request totaling $18.2 million. JUSTIFICATION It is necessary to extend Port staff coverage of the program for the period of time during which the prime design-builder will be completing their work.
