2018 State Building Codes from RCW 19.27
State Code ensures buildings in the State are safe for occupants.
The State Building Code (SBC) is the minimum construction requirement
for the State of Washington and includes:
International Building Code (IBC) with statewide amendments.
International Residential Code with statewide amendments.
International Mechanical Code with statewide amendments.
International Fire Code with statewide amendments.
2020 National Electrical Code (NFPA 70) -- Please see the Department of
Labor and Industries for information on the adoption and amendment of the
National Electrical Code.

State Building Code Development
Code Council advises State Legislature on code issues.
State Building Code updated on a three year cycle
State Building Code Council Rule-making provides a process for
amendments to national and state codes
The code is developed through open meetings and public hearings,
including Technical Advisory Group (TAG) meetings for review of each
code.

Airport Building Code
Aligned with State Code and ILA with City of SeaTac
Customized amendments will better protect the public health, welfare
and safety of the unique Airport environment we have.
Amendments are largely administrative changes.
Code Language added to augment the ILA with the City of SeaTac.

Some Significant Changes includes
1.  Added Grading and Clearing permits that will streamline the permit
process.
2.  2018 IBC now has scoping for All Gender Restrooms, gives the Port
flexibility to assign as many restrooms as desired since it's based on
the total number of fixtures.
3.  Board of Appeals procedures added to assist other AV groups and ADR.

Limitations of Translatable Documents

PDF files are created with text and images are placed at an exact position on a page of a fixed size.
Web pages are fluid in nature, and the exact positioning of PDF text creates presentation problems.
PDFs that are full page graphics, or scanned pages are generally unable to be made accessible, In these cases, viewing whatever plain text could be extracted is the only alternative.
