Here is the written version of what I plan to say today. Thank you!

Commissioners,
The proposed Federal Legislative Agenda for 2021 in Agenda item 11a lays out a completely
contradictory set of priorities.
Your goal "to address the climate crisis with legislation to reduce greenhouse gas emissions" is
CRITICAL if we are to avoid climate catastrophe. Other sections of the proposal talk about lowering
community impact from noise and ultrafine particles, which is important for our health and for
environmental justice.
On the other hand, you prioritize "accommodating passenger growth" and "steps to increase and facilitate
tourism". Increasing aviation is incompatible with your climate and health goals. Sustainable Aviation
Fuels are mentioned, but you ignore the science that establishes that while these may reduce emissions
over the lifecycle, they do nothing to reduce emissions from fuel burned.
Your first priority should be to revise FAA regulations that the Port has taken to mean you need to
accommodate all air travel. Reduced aviation is the ONLY way to meet local, regional, national, and
international climate goals.
Your documents state "Now through January 12, 2021 Incorporate feedback received", so please revise
your plans according to my feedback. To resolve your contradictory goals, you need to give up your goal
of increasing aviation and focus on addressing the climate crisis. It's impossible to do both.
Sincerely,
Laura Gibbons

PDF files are created with text and images are placed at an exact position on a page of a fixed size.
Web pages are fluid in nature, and the exact positioning of PDF text creates presentation problems.
PDFs that are full page graphics, or scanned pages are generally unable to be made accessible, In these cases, viewing whatever plain text could be extracted is the only alternative.
