SUMMARY
Mobile phones and other mobile devices are important communication tools for many Port of
Seattle employees. They are used by every Port organization including emergency response
providers, maintenance, and operations for traditional communication, but they are also critical
for applications supporting mobile workers such as inspections, security, and customer service.
In response to the current COVID-19 in-office work restrictions, a large percentage of our
employee population is working remotely, making cellular service even more critical to keep
the Port operating and connected. AT&T is one of three different cellular service providers
utilized to ensure good coverage in a user's area at a fair price. Cellular service providers
frequently change product offerings and contracts with multiple providers allow the individual
organizations the best choice of features to meet their business needs.
