24 SECTION 2. Adjust the definitions for "Probationary Employee" and "Probationary Period" to

26 Final definitions should be as follows:
27
28 "Probationary Employee" means a newly hired or rehired employee who has not yet
29 successfully completed their probationary period and is expected to establish a consistent,
30 acceptable level of performance and behavior that is sufficient to retain their employment.
31
32 "Probationary period" means an extension of the hiring process, the period of time from the
33 day a newly-hired or rehired employee begins work at the Port of Seattle through the end of
34 the sixth month of employment unless the employee is selected for a new position before
35 completing their probationary period. In this case, the employee's probationary period will
36 restart beginning with the date of transfer through the end of the sixth month of employment
37 in the new position.

Limitations of Translatable Documents

PDF files are created with text and images are placed at an exact position on a page of a fixed size.
Web pages are fluid in nature, and the exact positioning of PDF text creates presentation problems.
PDFs that are full page graphics, or scanned pages are generally unable to be made accessible, In these cases, viewing whatever plain text could be extracted is the only alternative.
