I have a couple of additional concerns that I did not have time to express verbally last night. In addition to my stated concerns last night regarding the abbreviated life expectancy of dwarf trees I am concerned about the longer lasting result of your proposed choices for the replacement trees. - It is my understanding that it Is much more difficult for dwarf trees to naturally re-propagate themselves than it is for their naturally occurring full-sized relatives. In fact, it is almost an anomaly for the smaller versions to do so not to say it cannot happen but the likelihood is much less. . Secondly, since all of the replacement trees will be the same age, they will probably all die within a very short time span. So the combination of a shorter life span, the decreased likelihood of self-propagation, and the fact that all of the replacement trees will be dead within a very short time period in the future makes your replacement plans unacceptable to me. If you choose to go ahead with the choices you have made, then these issues mandate your commitment to a perpetual responsibility to the affected areas. Vicki Lockwood
