MEMORANDUM OF AGREEMENT 
By and Between 
Port of Seattle 
And 
International Union of Operating Engineers, Local No. 286 

This Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) provides for the creation of the job classification
Baggage Systems Engineer within the Operating Engineers, Local 286 bargaining unit under the
terms and conditions specified below. 
1.  The pay rate of the Baggage Systems Engineer shall be eighty-five percent (85%) of the
Engineer (Operating and Maintenance/Mechanical). 
2.  Incumbents in the position shall not be eligible for professional licenses and certifications
not required. 
3.  Hours of work shall be consistent with the terms of the current collective bargaining
agreement. 
4.  The hiring process for filling the position shall be consistent with the terms of the current
collective bargaining agreement. 
5.  Incumbents in the position shall have the right of first refusal for overtime up to twelve
(12) hours in a day; additional hours not claimed may be flexibly assigned by
management. 
6.  Backfills for the positions will be from the conveyor shop. 
7.  This MOA constitutes an amendment to the Parties' June 1, 2014  May 31, 2018
Collective Bargaining Agreement.
