in Airline Technical Discussions 
None of the airlines are questioning the need for
new IAF facility. 
Key issue is IAF cost and potentials to reduce project
cost. 
Continued interest from airlines re: technology
assumptions in IAF concept design and provision of
flexibility for future improvements. 
Discussion regarding international gate additions for
IAF and impacts to availability of domestic gates. 
Discussion regarding phasing/sequencing of major
airport construction projects and the impact to
operations. 
Airlines are more comfortable with the 'What', rather than the 'How"

In addition to technical discussion meetings, significant
communication has occurred in writing.

In April/May, Port Commission received separate letters from the
domestic and foreign flag airlines expressing both support and
concerns.

6/29 Port Commission sent letters to airlines requesting written
responses to a set of questions regarding the IAF project. 
As of 7/31, Port Commission has received 6 responses 
Port Staff is preparing written responses to airline questions to
supplement the information provided in Commission briefings. 
In addition to meetings and briefings, there has been written communication

Anticipated Next Steps 
Input during this 90-day review process will be utilized as key
input to the Design/Builder led validation process over the next
several months. 
Input from the Independent Architect/Peer Review process will
also feed into validation process. 
Validation process will refine and improve the IAF concept 
Focus on reducing cost, passenger connection times, increasing
efficiencies, and ways to accelerate construction 
Validation process will include airline carrier participation and
CBP involvement. 
Process discussed with airlines in detail on 7/29, was summarized
at meeting, and information shared with airlines via SharePoint 
Alaska has requested added briefing on earlier IAF alternatives,
and view of what other future major airport projects will occur 
Two meetings set to discuss earlier alternatives 
Preparing listing of future projects for meeting and Port budget 
Staff will continue to invite deep airline engagement during IAF

Limitations of Translatable Documents

PDF files are created with text and images are placed at an exact position on a page of a fixed size.
Web pages are fluid in nature, and the exact positioning of PDF text creates presentation problems.
PDFs that are full page graphics, or scanned pages are generally unable to be made accessible, In these cases, viewing whatever plain text could be extracted is the only alternative.
