SUBJECT:  Request for Authorization for International Travel in 2015 
ACTION REQUESTED 
Request Commission authorization of the Commission's 2015 international travel plan. 
SYNOPSIS 
Pursuant to Section 2 of Resolution No. 3604, at the beginning of each calendar year, the Port
Commission is required to consider and approve a motion authorizing possible Commission
international travel that can be anticipated for the year. Not all of the approved trips may
materialize. Any additional international travel not included in this request will be approved
separately by the Commission in an open public meeting. Anticipated destinations are as follows: 
1st Quarter 
British Columbia, including Vancouver: to learn about successes and challenges of the
Vancouver airport's International Arrival Facility operation and project. 
2nd Quarter 
Europe, including Amsterdam and  Brussels: Trade Development Alliance / Seattle
Metropolitan Chamber study mission with business, community and industry leaders,
and elected officials. 
Europe, including Brussels: trade and tourism outreach and development. 
Europe, including London: tourism outreach and development. 
3rd Quarter 
Europe, including Hamburg: study mission to examine the collaboration between the
Port, and local and regional governments. 
4th Quarter 
None at this time
