Braden *Lesley Canfield As one of your neighbors to the south on the Waterfront, the Seattle Aquarium shares your interest in the Ken Collins efforts to rebuild the downtown Waterfront as a dynamic public shoreline, a new civic heart for Seattle, David D. Dicks and a public asset for the entire Puget Sound region. A Patricia J. Dill major element of that program is the Alaskan Way Viaduct Replacement which preserves the vital SR99 north-south corridor through Seattle, Bob Donegan insuring the continued movement of people and goods which is *Will Einstein important to both our organizations. Dennis Forsyth We envision this revitalized Waterfront with Susan L. Gates new parks and paths, vibrant public and cultural spaces, J. Brian Hill places to enjoy views, and a new urban street as an attraction for the thousands of tourists who access Neal Holland the City via the Ports cruise ship business. I understand that the Port expects 188 cruise vessels to call Linda K. Johnson at its terminals this year (bringing nearly $400 million of economic benet to the region), and clearly *Stephanie Kornblum these numbers will only increase in the future as the Waterfront is transformed. Those tourists are a key Mark E. Kramer to the vitality of the Waterfront businesses and we appreciate the Ports efforts in tourism promotion. Katherine A. Krogslund Erin J. Letey The Seattle Aquarium intends to expand and improve along with other exciting revitalization efforts like Lisa C. Luther the extension of the Pike Place Market, the safer and more habitat-friendly rebuilt seawall, better Greg Massey connections from downtown to the water's edge, new public piers on either side of the Aquarium, and a Steve Moore broader sidewalk along the water. The Port's providing its share of the funding for the Alaskan Way Gregory P. Owens Viaduct Replacement will translate into better public access to the Waterfront for local residents and Robert W.
