SUBJECT: Special Order of Business: Recognition of Goodwill National Graduate of the

Michael Bulling, a member of a custodial crew at Sea-Tac Airport, was honored in 2010 as
Graduate of the Year by Goodwill Industries in Tacoma. Bulling has worked at the airport for
three years now, taking a bus eaSch day from his home in Lakewood all while dealing with the
challenge of living with cerebral palsy.
The port previously celebrated Mr. Bulling's award on June 22, 2010, and thanked him for the
inspiration his dedication and commitment offers to everyone. He has become a valued partner
for the Port of Seattle.
On May 2, 2011, Mr. Bulling was chosen as the Goodwill Industries National Graduate of the
Year. The honor highlights his own commitment to excellence, and to using his skills and
abilities to serve the community around him. We are fortunate to count him as a member of the
port team, and to celebrate the can-do spirit and perseverance that is his hallmark.
The Port of Seattle is committed to creating jobs and economic growth for the region, and to
ensuring that many citizens and businesses have the opportunity to participate in the port's
businesses.
Tacoma Goodwill uses both donations and business revenue to offer programs that assist people
with disabilities or disadvantages with finding meaningful work. This year, Tacoma Goodwill
Industries will help more than 7,500 people with education, job training and placement so they
can become independent self-supporting citizens.
