REQUESTED ACTION Request for authorization for the Chief Executive Officer to execute a Memorandum of Agreement between the Port of Seattle and the Teamsters Local 117 representing Bus Drivers and Parking Service Revenue Representatives regarding the Use of Sick Leave for Medical/Dental Appointments. BACKGROUND This agreement covers approximately (37) Bus Drivers and (23) Parking Service Revenue Representatives at SeaTac International Airport. SCOPE OF THE AGREEMENT Existing language in Article 10.04 of the Collective Bargaining Agreement restricts use of sick leave to "instances of bona fide employee illness or injury." This Memorandum of Agreement will allow regular full-time, part-time and on-call employees to use up to twelve (12) hours of accrued sick leave annually for medical and/or dental appoints that the employee(s) is unable to arrange during non-working hours. Requests for such leave shall require a seven (7) day advance notice and will be accompanied by documents such as a doctor's note. Accrued vacation leave shall be used to cover personal appointment and medical and/or dental appointments beyond the twelve (12) hour annual limit of sick leave use. Term of the Agreement The current Collective Bargaining Agreement is in effect until May 31, 2012.
