SUBJECT: Special Order of Business - Swearing in of New Firefighters and Police Officers 

The Port of Seattle Fire Department (POSFD) and the Port of Seattle Police Department 
(POSPD) have recently hired new firefighters and police officers to join their respective
departments. As part of their introduction to the Port, the Commission President will administer
an oath of office to the new members of the Fire Department and the Police Department.
Firefighters:
The three new members of the POSFD have shown dedication and accomplishment by
completing over 640 hours of training and have been tested to meet our Firefighter I & II and
ARFF qualifications. The new firefighters are: 
Christopher Clark spent the last 13 years as the Operations Manager at Epoch Design as well as
five years volunteering/EMT at Eastside Fire and Rescue before joining our department on April
26, 2010. He has been married for 10 years with two beautiful children, a 5 year old son and 2 
year old daughter. 
Andrew Eicher ("Drew") was born and raised in Washington. He graduated with a Bachelors of
Arts degree from the University of Arizona. He volunteered with Vashon Island Fire & Rescue
and joined the POSFD on April 26, 2010. 
Colton Fogelberg was born and raised in Washington. He enjoys numerous hobbies such as
fishing and skiing. He volunteered at Enumclaw Fire Department and Buckley Fire Department
before joining the POSFD on April 26, 2010.
Police Officers:
The police officers being sworn in are all experienced police officers who have moved to
POSPD from other agencies:

Officer Doug Carlton re-joined POSPD on May 27, 2010. He returned to the POSPD after
working in Sitka Alaska from 2005 to 2009. He and his wife returned to the Seattle area to be
closer to family after having their first child. 

Officer Mark Kegley joined the POSPD on September 21, 2009. He graduated from Central
Washington University with a major in Law & Justice and then served for five years in the US
Army. 
Officer Steve Lobdell joined the POSPD on July 18th, 2010. Ofc Lobdell worked with the
Vancouver Police Department for over 20 years before coming to the Port. He was on the
SWAT team for 19 years and was very active in training, both in house and regionally.

Limitations of Translatable Documents

PDF files are created with text and images are placed at an exact position on a page of a fixed size.
Web pages are fluid in nature, and the exact positioning of PDF text creates presentation problems.
PDFs that are full page graphics, or scanned pages are generally unable to be made accessible, In these cases, viewing whatever plain text could be extracted is the only alternative.
