RESOLUTION NO. 3640 

A RESOLUTION  of the Port Commission of the Port of Seattle declaring Port fire
fighting vehicle, Darley, POS #052 , Engine #712, as surplus for
Port District purposes and further declaring that said property
should be transferred to the Puget Sound Skills Center. 
WHEREAS, the Port of Seattle has owned the personal property described as Darley
Engine, POS #052, Engine #712, Serial No. S29RT6CO9GC423876, estimated value between
$7,000 and $9,500; and 
WHEREAS, said property is no longer needed for its intended purpose, or other
purposes of the Port; and 
WHEREAS, such property is not part of any comprehensive plan of improvement or
modification thereof adopted by a vote of the people of said district; and 
WHEREAS, the Puget Sound Skills Center, is a specialized secondary program offering
career, technical and academic programs offered by the Highline School District, and has 
publicized a need for a surplus fire truck; 
WHEREAS, the Port of Seattle has a close working relationship with Puget Sound Skills
Center; and 
WHEREAS, the Port's transfer of the Darley, POS #052 Fire Engine #712 to the Puget
Sound Skills Center would respond to that need, and subsequently benefit the local community,
by helping to train future firefighters and associated fire personnel; and 
WHEREAS, the Puget Sound Skills Center has reached out to the Port for assistance
with this and other vocational opportunities, including Port internships; and 
WHEREAS, Chapter 39.33 of the Revised Code of Washington provides that the Port
may "sell, transfer, exchange, lease or otherwise dispose of any propertyto the state or any

municipality or any political subdivision thereof on such terms and conditions as may be
mutually agreed upon" 
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED, by the Port Commission of the
Port of Seattle that the Darley #052, Serial No. S29RT6CO9GC423876 is no longer needed for
Port purposes and that it is in the best interest of the Port that said property be declared surplus
and should be transferred to the Puget Sound Skills Center, which is a specialized secondary
program offered by the Highline School District located in Burien, Washington; and 

ADOPTED by the Port Commission of the Port of Seattle this ______ day of
______________, 2010, and duly authenticated in open session by the signature of the
Commissioners voting in favor thereof and the Seal of the Commission duly affixed.
