ACTION REQUESTED Request for authorization for the Chief Executive Officer to execute a Memorandum of Agreement between the Port of Seattle and the International Association of Firefighters, Local 1257, regarding Title Changes in the previously approved Collective Bargaining Agreement in effect from January 1, 2008, through December 31, 2010. BACKGROUND This Memorandum of Agreement covers a bargaining unit of sixty nine (69) Fire Department employees working in the classifications of Firefighter, Firefighter Mechanic, Lieutenant, Captain, Training Chief, and Alarm Inspector. The term of the bargaining agreement currently in effect is January 1, 2008 through December 31, 2010. This MOA will authorize the parties' agreement that in the 2008-2010 Collective Bargaining Agreement between the parties, all references to Captain shall apply to Battalion Chiefs, and all references to Lieutenant shall apply to Captains. Additionally, all references to the Fire Prevention Lieutenant shall apply to the Fire Marshall. The MOA also memorializes the title changes and rank change the Fire Department intends to make.
