PORT OF SEATTLE MEMORANDUM COMMISSION AGENDA Item No. 6e Date of Meeting June 22, 2010 DATE: June 15, 2010 TO: Tay Yoshitani, Chief Executive Officer FROM: Mary Gin Kennedy, Director of Commission Services SUBJECT: Revised Request for Authorization for International Travel in 2010 ACTION REQUESTED: Request Commission authorization to update the 2010 international travel plan. BACKGROUND: Pursuant to Section 2 of Resolution No. 3195, at the beginning of each calendar year, the Port Commission is required to consider and approve a motion authorizing potential Commission international travel which can be anticipated for the year. The Commission authorized the 2010 travel plan on January 12, 2010, but authorization to update the travel plan to include an additional trip and an additional destination is now being sought. It is recommended that Commission authorization be granted for the additional potential international travel to Canada outlined below and that the previously-approved travel to China be revised to reflect travel to China and Vietnam. 3rd Quarter: 2010 American Association of Port Authorities Annual Convention Canada International Trade Mission China and Vietnam
