A $4,000,000 budget reduction was made in the first quarter, and an additional approximate $6,100,000 reduction will be made in the second quarter. Airport Owned Gate Infrastructure Ahead of Schedule The two remaining loading bridges (N7 and S1) were installed ahead of schedule. Main Terminal Fire Piping Upgrades Under Budget The project is anticipating a savings of approximately $700,000 after closeout. 6 Projects with Favorable Variances (cont.) FAR Part 150 Mobile Home Park Acquisition Ahead of Schedule All mobile home units have been purchased. Demolition and site restoration is approximately 50% complete and is anticipated to finish ahead of schedule. 7 Projects with Reportable Variances 2nd Floor Tenant Improvements Schedule delay - Project construction activities are substantially complete except final completion of the tenant office build out and relocation of the current tenant offices. The remaining portion of work will be completed after the 2nd Floor HVAC Upgrades. North Expressway Relocation Schedule delay A contract for final paving, landscaping, and reclamation will be awarded in the second quarter, a delay from the original schedule due to a two month delay in the advertisement process. 2nd Floor HVAC Schedule delay The construction contract was extended two weeks due to incorrect installation of structural supports. The contractor required additional time for fabrication, installation, and re-insulating the affected areas. 8 Projects with Reportable Variances (cont.) 3rd Runway Residential Acquisition Schedule delay Three properties have been forwarded to outside legal counsel for acquisition via the condemnation process, delaying the project end date. Street Vacations Des Moines Creek Schedule delay The Port is still negotiating the agreement with the City of Des Moines, which is expected to be complete before the end of the year. 9 Construction Contract Growth that Exceeds 10% Trash Handling & Recycling System 10.6% At Concourse D, the home run conduit proposed for re-use did not exist in the field, so the project installed new conduit; The Ethernet converters specified for the fiber conversion were changed to analog to accommodate the Port's existing communication system; and Fusible disconnect switches were added at all twelve trash compactors for safety and maintenance reasons. 10 Capital Development Division Seaport Projects Capital Improvement Projects First Quarter Report 2010 11 Seaport Project Overall Status 9 Projects are within or ahead of target budget and schedule 5 Projects have either target schedule or budget off 2 Project have both target schedule and budget off 12 Seaport Quarterly Variance Update includes 16 projects 13 of these projects have no reportable variances 3 projects have reportable variances 13 Projects with Reportable Variance T5 Crane Spreader Replacement Schedule variance review design documents required additional changes to comply with codes and compatibility with existing equipment delaying delivery approximately six months. Sharepoint 2010 implementation is dependent on the completion of several infrastructure projects currently in progress.
