State Building Code from RCW 19.27 
The State Building Code (SBC) is the minimum construction requirement for the
state of Washington and includes: 
2015 International Building Code with statewide amendments 
2015 International Residential Code with statewide amendments 
2015 International Mechanical Code with statewide amendments 
2015 International Fire Code with statewide amendments 
2014 National Electrical Code (NFPA 70) -- Please see the Department of Labor
and Industries for information on the adoption and amendment of the National
Electrical Code. 
State Code ensures buildings in the state are safe for occupants.

State Building Code Development 
State Building Code updated on a three year cycle 
SBCC Rule-making provides a process for
amendments to national and state codes. 
The code is developed through open meetings and
public hearings, including TAG meetings for review
of each code. 
Code Council advises state Legislature on code issues

Airport Building Code 
Customized amendments will better protect the public
health, welfare and safety of the unique Airport
environment we have. 
Amendments are largely administrative changes. 
We added flat fee demolition permits and clearing permits
that will streamline the permit process. 
Code language added to augment the new ILA with the City
of SeaTac. 
Aligned with state code and ILA with City of SeaTac

Limitations of Translatable Documents

PDF files are created with text and images are placed at an exact position on a page of a fixed size.
Web pages are fluid in nature, and the exact positioning of PDF text creates presentation problems.
PDFs that are full page graphics, or scanned pages are generally unable to be made accessible, In these cases, viewing whatever plain text could be extracted is the only alternative.
