10                                             TEXT OF THE MOTION

12    The Port of Seattle Commission hereby adopts the attached charter of the Aviation Special
13    Committee to develop recommendations and provide oversight in pursuit of the Port's Century
14    Agenda goal to meet the region's air transportation needs at Seattle-Tacoma International
15    Airport for the next 25 years and encourage the cost-effective expansion of domestic and
16    international passenger and cargo service as further elaborated in the attached charter.

19                                     STATEMENT IN SUPPORT OF THE MOTION

21    The Aviation Special Committee, chaired by Stephanie Bowman and Peter Steinbrueck, has
22    been chartered primarily to conduct in-depth oversight of the complex Sustainable Airport
23    Master Plan  and to prepare the chairs to participate in the regional air transportation
24    discussion.

26    Significant infrastructure projects are currently underway at the airport and will receive the
27    additional scrutiny necessary to provide the full Commission with a clear picture of how those
28    projects are proceeding.

30    The primary outcome of this Committee will be to advance the SAMP planning process to
31    environmental review and to provide oversight on matters related to SAMP, regional air
32    transportation discussions, and airport infrastructure progress.
