APPROVED MINUTES 
COMMISSION SPECIAL MEETING DECEMBER 11, 2012 
The Port of Seattle Commission met in a special meeting Monday, December 11, 2012, in the
Sound Room of the Bell Harbor International Conference Center for the purpose of holding a
Commission retreat to discuss the Commissioner appointment process used to fill the vacancy
created when Commissioner Tarleton resigns on January 31, 2013, and to discuss Commission
operational  issues.   Commissioners  Albro,  Bryant,  Creighton,  and  Holland  were  present.
Commissioner Tarleton was absent. 
CALL TO ORDER 
The special meeting was called to order at 9:33 a.m. by John Creighton, Commission Vice
President. 
The following topics were reviewed and discussed at the Commission retreat: 
The process and timeline for appointing a new Commissioner with a target date of a
March appointment.  Details of the process were subsequently announced at the
Commission meeting later that day. 
The Century Agenda portfolios and Regional Initiative assignments will continue. 
Policy Roundtables and Policy Discussions will be organized for the second meeting of
each month instead of the normal business agenda of final actions and staff briefings. 
A goal of completing a revision of the Delegation of Authority, Resolution No. 3605, as
amended, was discussed. 
ADJOURNMENT 
There being no further business, the special meeting was adjourned at 10:55 a.m.
