Honorable Commissioners of the Port of Seattle,

The Woodinville City Council sends this letter in unanimous support of the Port of Seattle's
Economic Development Partnership Program as you consider the program's continuation.
Since the Program's inception in 2016, the City of Woodinville has been a beneficiary of
Program funds to support tourism, placemaking, and economic recovery activities. The City
has leveraged Program funds to directly respond to studies from previous grant cycles,
improving different geographic areas throughout the City and strengthening local relationships
to enhance future economic development activities.
The Program has had impacts far beyond each year's project. The Program has provided a
unique opportunity to establish and improve relationships with other regional jurisdictions,
including the Port of Seattle's economic development staff. As a small city, Woodinville lacks
the economic development staff of other larger cities and greatly benefits from the Economic
Development Partnership Program by being able to work and coordinate with others. The
project funding and the opportunity for collaboration and information sharing with other cities
and Port of Seattle staff has proven invaluable to the City.
The City greatly appreciates the Port of Seattle's historical willingness to collaborate on local
projects that further interests of the Port and Cities' alike. While we understand that revenues
have been impacted by the pandemic, leveraging local funding and investing in economic
recovery projects now will have great returns as our region regains its economic footing.
Thank you for your consideration and the City looks forward to opportunities for partnership in
the future.
