Lessons Learned from other Projects
Past Lesson Learned Project Application
Guide specification calls for Engineer to provide Guide specification will be revised to require tack
direction on tack coat application for pavement coat application for pavement overlay

Access for landscape maintenance is problematic Consider maintenance access as part of
on steep slopes replacement retaining wall design
Project Manager planned additional project Determine potential for substandard pavement
contingency to support risk of substandard section during design and consider additional
pavement section in bus area project contingency to support construction phase
Asphalt pavement section at bus stops does not Aviation to update standards requiring a Portland
support employee parking busing operation cement concrete pavement section at bus stops

Project Risks Phases I and II
Risk Description Probability Impact Mitigation Plan
Compliance issues Restroom revisions to support Considering non-gender
accessibility compliance may H M specific and accessibility
be more costly compliant restroom
Regulatory issues Regulatory requirements PM working with designer to
increase costs (e.g., code M M determine scope and cost
required conductor removal) impacts
Construction Bid Cost of acquiring contractors Project will be bid as a unit
in a competitive construction L M price contract to reduce
environment (anticipated in contractor risk
2022)
Additional Failure Rockery retaining wall will Place barriers in places of
continue to fail prior to M L failure; monitor wall condition
construction

Limitations of Translatable Documents

PDF files are created with text and images are placed at an exact position on a page of a fixed size.
Web pages are fluid in nature, and the exact positioning of PDF text creates presentation problems.
PDFs that are full page graphics, or scanned pages are generally unable to be made accessible, In these cases, viewing whatever plain text could be extracted is the only alternative.
